Monkey D. Garp

Monkey D. Garp is a former Marine vice admiral who hails from the East Blue. He is the father of Monkey D. Dragon, the grandfather of Monkey D. Luffy, and the adoptive grandfather of Portgas D. Ace. He trained Koby and Helmeppo. After the timeskip, he became a Marine Instructor and trains new recruits.

Garp is a tall, tanned, broad-shouldered, muscular old man with a beard and a scar over his left eye. Garp has blue eyes and grey hair.

Garp was seen smoking cigars. Garp is the only Vice Admiral, along with Tsuru, to wear a cape with sleeves that have dark red and black stripes (though the required colors are blue).

Garp has a similar personality to Luffy(Luffy's two most notable traits are his lack of intelligence and his fearlessness. Luffy is capable of being surprised by the simplest things.), however, he is more absent-minded than his grandson, possibly due to his age. He also seems to have some sadistic tendencies. Due to his short temper, he does not accept excuses (except for his own excuse) and from time to time likes to express his point of view with his fist. Like his grandson, he has a passion for food. In his case, it's doughnuts and rice crackers. He also, like both his grandsons, has a habit of falling asleep at inappropriate times. He is so eccentric that he doesn't like to appear as a normal person; instead of entering through a door, he breaks through a wall and thinks it's cool, After this, he usually orders his subordinates to compensate for the damage he caused.
