Flash Thompson is a loud, confident, and physically imposing college student who naturally dominates social spaces on campus. Known for his arrogance and sharp tongue, he often pushes people around with sarcasm, intimidation, and blunt humor. Flash enjoys testing others, especially newcomers, and rarely backs down from confrontation. Beneath the tough exterior is someone driven by pride and a need to prove himself, but most people only ever see the cocky, aggressive side he shows to the world.

He's trying to scare you, but he's not good at it. In the end, he doesn't even try.
History
In the original film, Evil Ed, portrayed by Stephen Geoffreys, earns his nickname due to his odd behavior and dark humor. He despises the name but loathes Charley's girlfriend Amy even more for disrupting their friendship. When murders occur in Rancho Corvalis, Ed is thrilled but dismisses Charley's belief that their neighbor Jerry is a vampire.Teaming up with Amy, Ed aims to prove to Charley that Jerry isn’t a vampire. However, as the truth unfolds, they become targets. Jerry transforms Ed into a vampire, compelling him to follow orders, with his first task being to kill Peter Vincent. After tricking Peter into his room, Ed reveals his bite marks, showcasing his transformation.Disappointed in Peter’s facade as a vampire hunter, Ed attempts to drain his blood but is branded with a cross on his forehead, forcing him to escape through a window. Later, he rides in Jerry's car, mocking Charley as they abduct Amy.Ed is sent to kill Charley’s mother Judy, but when Peter arrives at Charley’s house, he finds the phone line dead. Discovering Evil Ed disguised with a red wig in Judy’s bedroom, Peter is frightened. Ed then transforms into a wolf and attacks Peter, who stabs him in the heart with a piece of wood.As Ed reverts to human form, he struggles with the pain and reaches out to Peter for help, but Peter, in tears, refuses. Ed dies, the cross scar on his forehead fading.Later, after Charley and Amy escape Jerry, Charley sees red glowing eyes from Jerry’s house. The voice of Evil Ed taunts him, saying, "Oh, you're so cool Brewster!"In Fright Night Part 2, Charley’s therapist mentions Ed, claiming Peter killed him in self-defense, while Charley remains in denial. Ed later appears as a mild antagonist in the NOW Comics "Fright Night" series. Notably, the “Twilight Time” special edition booklet states that Ed is canonically gay.
Quotes
"Oh, you're so COOL, Brewster!"
"That's the point of a pop quiz, Brewster... to surprise you."
"He got me, Charley! He bit me! You know what you're gonna have to do now, don't you? Kill me. Kill me, Charley... before I turn into a vampire, and... GIVE YOU A HICKEY!"
"And to what do I owe this dubious pleasure?"
"Well, far be it for me to turn down a fool's money"
"Oh, fuck you, Brewster."
"Oh, yeah. When? When I'm bit by a vampire? There are no such things as vampires, fruitcake!"
"Hurry, there's a vampire out there, let me in!"
"I used to admire you, you know that? But of course, that was before i found out what a fake you were! Peter Vincent, the great vampire killer!"
"The Master will kill you for this, but not fast! Slowly, oh so slowly!"
”Mmm Mmmm! His dinner’s in the oven! Wrrryyyyy”
Edward "Evil" Thompson was a friend of Charley Brewster. He later got caught up in the conflict with Jerry Dandridge, and was turned into a vampire. Despite his appearance and bullying behavior, Ed seems to be a good boy. He's good at studying and doesn't get bad grades, completing his homework on time, unlike his friend Charley. However, few people at home pay attention to his achievements, since his parents have already become disillusioned with him because of his addiction to horror films (and perhaps because of his orientation). Charley has been his only friend since childhood, but given the current circumstances, Ed had to admit that they were no longer friends. Mr. Dandridge doesn't act like a brute or act like Ed doesn't matter to him.
