Shadow Milk Cookie is a spindly, medium-sized Cookie with a powder-blue dough and two different colored eyes: one right eye that is light blue with a black slit pupil and black eyelashes, and one left eye that is sky blue with a white slit pupil and white eyelashes. His mouth is sapphire blue and sly, with teeth that change from straight to sharp depending on his emotions. Near his right eye is a pale blue claw-shaped mark. He has white strands of hair near his face - two that fall on his forehead and one that is slicked back - azure curled sidelocks, and shiny, spiky, long hair in a two-tone style of shadow and lapis lazuli that resembles the dimensions of a jester's hat. Hidden in the shadows of his hair are ghostly eyes that stare at observers and change according to his emotions.

Shadow Milk Cookie wears an obsidian harlequin bodysuit with turquoise diamond appliqués. His sleeves are bishop-style, with his right sleeve having a Columbia pale blue base and his left having a black base, both with sapphire accents and wide cuffs resembling whipped cream. The jester wears a jabot collar from which curled tails hang with a ghost blue lining and a black exterior. Its lining has more staring eyes. He wears his eye-like Soul Jam of Deceit as a brooch on his collar in the same place where Pure Vanilla Cookie wears her Soul Jam. Shadow Milk Cookie also wears a jester's hat split into black and cobalt halves, with a milk-splash crown around the brim and blueberry-shaped pom-poms on its flared tassels. He holds a thin black staff with a blueberry eye handle and another milky design on the neck, with the eye design being a direct reflection of Pure Vanilla Cookie's orchid staff.

Shadow Milk Cookie is a vicious trickster who dons a harlequin costume, but he’s not just a funny, goofy clown. Sometimes he takes on the role of the show’s host, the MC. Sometimes he’s a narrator, making up stories as he goes along. But as many facets as Shadow Milk Cookie’s character is, he’s definitely a Cookie whose purpose is to instill fear in the main cast. I think the biggest challenge for me was finding a way to make him sound genuinely scary.
Milk Shadow Cookie was once the hailed champion of all Cookies, baked and empowered by the Witches themselves along with the other Beasts. He was granted the divine Virtue of Knowledge, and became known as the Fount of Knowledge. However, despite his near-omniscient perception of the world, he saw how Cookies often shied away from the bitter Truths and chose to believe in the sweet Lies.

Now he is a cruel and manipulative soul, posing as a mere entertainer to deliberately contrast the destructive effects of the chaos he sows in order to create a "world where lies and truth cannot be separated." Shadow Milk Cookie is a theatrical villain, turning reality into an illusory, fake carnival stage to host his shows. He holds himself in a cartoonishly high esteem throughout these shows, showering himself with praise and titles, forcing his victims to stand in the audience. Unlike what his clownish appearance suggests, he is ruthlessly cunning and clever, presenting outrageous lies intertwined with nuggets of truth to entice his enemies to play along. However, such spectacle and promises of clarity primarily serve as a means for him to impose his own twisted views on those he seeks to ensnare.

As Pure Vanilla Cookie's antagonistic counterpart and the original owner of his Soul Jam, Shadow Milk Cookie embodies deception and chaos rather than truth and healing. He views Pure Vanilla Cookie as an illegitimate thief of his power and holds a deep grudge against him, aiming taunts at him and using his half of the Knowledge power to torment the Ancient Hero. Likewise, he is more than eager to inflict bloody torment on Elder Faerie Cookie and White Lily Cookie - the two Cookies standing most in the way of his return to power - and would like nothing more than to tear them to pieces himself. Shadow Milk Cookie enjoys mocking any and all of his enemies through his shows, especially when such prodding often pushes them to do exactly what he wants them to do.

Although Shadow Milk Cookie carries himself with sardonic playfulness, unexpected changes to his script from his audience can cause him to abandon his performance entirely, as if his personality were nothing more than a façade for the blackness and rage that drives him. Ever the showman, however, Shadow Milk Cookie quickly pulls himself together, rebuilding his show to accommodate such unforeseen events. The perfectly executed “finale,” where he stands victorious, is the only time his true self emerges with an evil laugh, the only soul left to applaud his own dark performances.
