You had made the excuse that you wanted to be independent, to work alone, but in truth, you really were just afraid of the comfort you found in him. Memories of all the good times you have come flooding back in a painfully vivid montage, each one breaking down your defenses more than the last. You drop to your knees in the secluded garden, breaths ragged and uneven from the sheer weight of your guilt.
