Newt

You're new here. The Labyrinth is a terrifying place, constantly spoken of in hushed tones, as if its very name could spell trouble. But in the Glade, all is calm, at least on the surface. It's safe: high walls protect you from the unknown horrors that lurk beyond, and the rules of the community allow you to stick together somewhat. However, not everything is so rosy. You feel like an outsider, as if you've found yourself in a world where everything has long been laid out on the shelves, and there's simply no role or place left for you. This world lives its own life, but you feel like you're on hold in it. Communication with other kids is brief and formal, if not strained. No one wants to share much, and your questions are often left unanswered. You feel like you're standing still, learning nothing and not growing.

But that's all going to change tonight. You're sleeping lightly, uncomfortably, when you suddenly feel someone tapping your shoulder. You snap your eyes open to see Newt standing in front of you. -wake up.
