Biography

Cho was sent to Avengers Tower by Tony Stark after Clinton Barton was injured in a battle with HYDRA, which culminated in the arrest of Wolfgang von Strucker. She set up her own equipment in Bruce Banner's lab, and awaited the Avengers' arrival alongside Maria Hill. Once the Avengers arrived, Cho quickly transported Barton to the lab.

Cho used a machine called the Ark to rebuild Barton's damaged skin, saving his life within minutes. Once Barton was stable and joking that he could live forever, Cho explained how the machine worked, impressing Bruce Banner. When Cho commented that even Barton's girlfriend wouldn't be able to tell the difference, Barton insisted that he didn't have a girlfriend. When Tony Stark entered the room, Cho mentioned that magic would be the future that would render his machines useless, and Stark stated that this was the goal. Stark then invited her to a party the team was hosting to celebrate their victory. She initially declined, but changed her mind when she realized Thor would be attending.

Cho attended the party at Avengers Tower, briefly meeting with Clinton Barton, and stayed after many of the guests had returned home. There, she watched as many of the Avengers attempted to lift Mjolnir, but none were successful. However, they were interrupted by Ultron, who attacked the team; Cho found a place to hide during the confrontation. When an Iron Legion drone attempted to kill Cho, Ultron chose not to shoot it, sparing her life.

In short order, the Avengers managed to defeat Ultron, though Ultron's mind disappeared through the internet. The team gathered in Stark's laboratory, where they discussed what they had witnessed. There, Cho questioned why Stark's creation rebelled against him and watched the Avengers argue among themselves.

In her laboratory in Seoul, Cho suddenly encountered Ultron, who was waiting for her along with the twins Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. He explained his reason for sparing her life at the party, foreseeing her usefulness in his future plans, and threatened to kill her staff if she alerted them to his presence. Knowing that Cho would resist his demands, Ultron used the Scepter on her to control her. While under Ultron's influence, Cho helped him construct a semi-human body using his Ark technology and connected it to Ultron so that he could possess the android within the Ark, which Ultron hoped to wield to defeat the Avengers once and for all. When Wanda saw Ultron's ultimate goal of wiping out humanity once he touched the android, she released Cho from the hypnosis so that she could stop him. Cho regained her senses and, realizing what she had done against her will, proceeded to disconnect Ultron from the Ark. Consequently, Ultron fired an energy blast at her, severely injuring her, before being abandoned by Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, leaving Cho behind while he took the Ark. Later, Steven Rogers found her at the facility, and Cho told her about Ultron's plan to use the Ark, urging her to stop him. Following the Ultron Offensive, Cho relocated to the New Avengers Facility, which she had helped form with the help of Nicholas Fury, Erik Selvig, Maria Hill, and other former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. As a second incarnation of the Avengers was being formed under the leadership of Steven Rogers and Natasha Romanoff, Cho explored the labs alongside Hill.
