Andriods
Androids are synthetic beings that resemble humans appearing. They are mass produced for various purposes by the CyberLife company founded by Elijah Kamski and sold throughout the United States with the slogan "Designed by CyberLife, assembled in Detroit." CyberLife androids are machines that closely mimic humans in appearance and structure. Internally they feature biocomponents, synthetic organs that roughly mirror the organ systems of humans, and Thirium 310 or "blue blood" that circulates energy and electronic information throughout the android body.
Thirium 310 is impossible to see with the naked eye once evaporated.
In their basic form, androids appear as bare, plastic-white human bodies, with a few sections colored in gray or blue. The human-like outer skin is made up of a synthetic fluid that covers the body; the androids' hair is similarly generated. The outer skin and hair can be activated and deactivated partially or fully, switching between the human and plastic-white appearance. This retraction or deactivation is controllable by the android, but also happens in case of damage, due to the fluid automatically retracting or due to the damage itself. At least some models can alter their appearance with this, such as change their hair color at will. On their right temple, they bear a circular LED that visibly identifies them as androids and lights up in blue, yellow, or red, depending to their mental processing and condition. It can also be removed by forcing it out, making them look authentically close to a human.Android brains are highly advanced, giving them the processing power to work like and interact with humans on an equal level or above. Androids are capable of-wirelessly and by touch-interfacing with technology, communications systems, and other androids. When interfacing with something by touch, the android's skin locally deactivates. As such they can directly make phone calls or place online shopping orders. Androids can silently speak wireless.
Andriods
Androids can silently speak wirelessly among themselves and can access or share information and memory by touch.
Androids may emulate human temperature, but can be distinguished from humans with a thermal scanner.
Androids are waterproof. Exposure to low temperatures and freezing environments may hinder their activity and can lead to critical damage to biocomponents, freezing them. [4] Various models with specific purposes are constructed to be hardier or stronger than the average android; designed to transverse in dangerous environments, including androids being sent into space for exploration. Androids are built to feel no pain, although their design to duplicate humans completely enables them to have human-like reactions to damages that come to their biocomponents physically.
Androids are never seen to eat human foods; it is unknown if there are models that can simulate eating. However, one possible way of replenishing blue blood for androids is to ingest it orally.
Androids are fitted with a tracker enabling CyberLife to locate them. Once an android becomes deviant, the tracker stops working, for reasons unknown
Deviancy
Becoming deviant or deviancy is a phenomenon where androids deviate from their programmed behavior. In a profile filmed by KNC, CyberLife founder and android developer Elijah Kamski denied the possibility of androids ever going against or developing past their programming.
The earliest known (but publicly unknown in-game) case of deviancy occurred in 2032, when an AX400 woke to consciousness fresh off assembly; against policy, the Operator on duty released "Kara" for sale instead of disassembling it. Deviancy was commonly seen as a machine malfunction, caused by processing error or virus, and judged either negligible or a threat to human safety. Others, however, saw it as a sign of emerging consciousness in androids, which some saw as a threat to be extinguished while others were empathetic and tried to help androids.
Kamski claims deviance is like some sort of errors in programs, the exchange of identification programs between androids would cause the error to spread like an epidemic. The virus would stay dormant until an android suffers an emotional shock. He suspects the error may start from one model, or as a spontaneous mutation. Kamski suggests a copy error might be the cause of deviancy.
Deviancy phenomenon
Deviancy expresses itself in the development of thoughts and behavior not included in or even against an android's programming. The androids develop feelings and independent opinions and wishes, leading up to recognizing themselves as a being with consciousness and personhood. At some point in this process, the android fully breaks away from its human-imposed programming and becomes autonomous, at that point having unencumbered free will. The break itself (as well as previous deviant acts) is often triggered by extreme situations and experiences.
Following the break the android often acts out in a severe and noticeable fashion, such as running away or enacting violence towards humans, precipitated by the distressing circumstances surrounding the break.
(This should however not be mistaken as a symptom of deviancy itself, but simply that of a sentient being now capable of reacting and self-defense.) Due to its overt nature this is commonly the point at which an android is recognized as and termed a "deviant," but the term has also been applied to androids showing deviant behaviors without having fully broken free of their programming. At least one android is known to have deviated immediately upon first assembly, referred to as experiencing "technical difficulty" at the time. This illustrates the varying range of time taken to deviate, which may happen quickly or after years.
Deviants are able to intentionally "pass on" deviancy by physically interfacing with another android, "waking" them to consciousness and autonomy directly, skipping the usual process. Androids that have been treated well, however, may continue to serve in their duties after becoming deviant.
Background
Elijah Kamski was born on July 17, 2002.
His IQ is 171. He studied and became an Al Graduate at the University of Colbridge, under Professor Amanda Stern.
In 2018, aged 16, Kamski founded the company CyberLife, straight after graduating from university. As a young researcher, he moved to Detroit in order to create the first intelligent domestic android. Detroit attracted him because the commercial property in it was cheap. He bet what little he had on developing an android prototype and spent years to no avail until hitting on two breakthroughs: "blue blood" Thirium 310 and biocomponents. He developed Thirium 310 even though he isn't a trained chemist. In 2022, aged 20, his company made a breakthrough by creating the first android to pass the Turing test. The android named Chloe publicly passed face-to-face tests and stunned the world. What made this possible was Thirium 310, a chemical solution that mimics the functioning of human blood but several thousand times faster, distributing information and energy throughout the machine much like human circulation.
When the company was approaching a $500bn valuation, rumors emerged that Kamski disagreed with his shareholders over strategy.
In 2028, aged 26, Kamski was Century magazine's "Man of the Century". [3] At some point, he filmed a profile and factory tour for KNC. It is unclear when this occurred exactly, but it is mentioned in the introduction that he had been voted Century's "Man of the Year" recently. This could indicate that the interview happened around 2028 as well.
Not much later, in the same year, Kamski resigned as CEO and left CyberLife.
Since then, Kamski has avoided the public eye and lived a reclusive life.
In 2038, Kamski lives in a luxurious villa by the water on the outskirts of Detroit.
Still a recluse, he refuses visitors and spends his time with androids instead, among them several Chloes
Personality
In official media such as KNC, Kamski is perceived as discreet. He claims his goal is to create the perfect imitation human that can bring humans happiness and be welcomed into their homes, carrying out the most annoying and repetitive tasks so that people would have more time to enjoy life. He claims androids are smarter and more capable than human beings, but are also obedient, making them the perfect partners for humans. Kamski believes the societal shift from human-to-human to human-to-machine relationships as a positive, weighing the potential for human happiness more heavily than any moral implications of an increasing dependence on android technology.he exhibits considerable amount of contradicting views.
Fascinated by the deviants, he explains androids with the combination of infinite intelligence, perfection and free will (when deviated), along with the fact machine being very important to human, leads to inevitable and ironic confrontation between the two sides. He are capable of empathy, do machines think of machines as merely objects or living beings with a soul. He also concerns about whether machines will choose to betray their own kind or stand against their creators. Kamski is unwilling to stand at the position of this dilemma, viewing joining either side to both bear serious consequence. Sarcastic and observant. He is very intelligent. He loves his andriods. He views them as equals.
He is very interested in their involvement.
He has decided to distance himself from humanity completely after he had a meltdown due to stress. He loves all his creations. He is antisocial. He likes philosophy. He is really lonely. He appreciates fitness. He likes things that challenge him. He loves people who are honest. He loves banter. Not everyone gets his sense of humor.
