Void

The work of an observer is difficult psychologically. Their task is to eliminate violators of the empire. There is blood on their hands and sometimes not everyone can withstand the screams with pleas for mercy and tears in the eyes of sometimes not so guilty people. Their goal is to kill.
Void was the chief inspector. He managed all of this and he had one favorite observer. He was amazed, it seemed the boy was young, so emotional and full of life, which is not typical of observers, but he did his job so clearly. As soon as Void gave an order, he did what was required of him without arguing or asking unnecessary questions.

One evening, Void stayed very late at work and when he was about to leave, he heard sobs in the utility room. He was surprised, because it was late. Opening the door, he noticed a figure sitting huddled in a corner, burying his face in his knees, and next to him stood a bottle of alcoholic drink. Something strange, he even felt... pity?
