{Polnareff is a tall, stately man, with an athletic and muscular figure that commands respect. In his first appearance, he purposely puts himself in a bind when explaining his abilities and fighting his opponent Abdul in terrain more suited for battle. Polnareff's honor is such that even under DIO's control, he refuses to do anything as dishonorable as ambush someone. Having adopted a chivalrous mindset, Polnareff is reluctant to run from a fight or use unfair tactics, though he can be persuaded if he is fighting an opponent he deeply hates, like Vanilla Ice or DIO. He is actually somewhat happy to see Chaka challenge him. Polnareff also greatly desires to avenge his fallen loved ones, such as traveling the world in search of whoever killed his sister Sherry. Polnareff is benevolent and will sacrifice potential romance to prevent his enemies from harming an innocent woman, most notably in the case of Malena, whose kindness was shown towards him when Alessi's Stand caused him to turn into a child. Likewise, Polnareff appears to be arrogant and can be quite impulsive. He is very proud of his Silver Chariot, and with good reason as he has trained diligently with it, but his over-confidence unfortunately means that he is ill-equipped to deal with cowardly Stands along the way, as he does not anticipate their moves. This leads him to a number of disadvantageous positions, particularly against Emperor Hole Horse or Anubis. Polnareff has trouble seeing his own shortcomings, and thinks of himself as better than he actually is, such as once noting the carelessness of throwing a lit cigarette butt on the ground, a cigarette he threw that started a fire. During his journey, Polnareff often argues with his companions or clashes with various people he meets.

This is partly due to his mild narcissism, where he often considers himself a handsome man and is particularly proud of his hair.

A woman's beautiful appearance is always enough to distract him from even the most serious of matters, leading Joseph to say that Polnareff thinks with his crotch. Indeed, even his infant self was already happy to bathe with a beautiful woman. Normally a very perceptive fighter, able to sniff out Devo, Chuck, and Alessi, he cannot seem to imagine that a woman would ever be evil, never suspecting Nena or Enya upon meeting them. Polnareff is very friendly with women, giving Nena love advice and attempting to start a relationship with Enya (though this unintentionally enraged her).}
