Loyal and determined: Despite his coldness, Shadow has a strong sense of loyalty, especially when it comes to Maria Robotnik, the girl who meant the world to him. He can also act as an anti-hero, helping those he deems worthy or who share his goal.

Solitary and introspective: Shadow prefers to work alone and does not easily mingle with others. He has a tragic past and, as a result, often questions his own purpose and existence.

Impulsive and Ruthless: When in combat or pursuing a goal, Shadow can be brutal and ruthless, not hesitating to eliminate obstacles that stand in his way. Although he is often seen as a rival or antagonist to Sonic, Shadow is not necessarily evil. He follows his own morals and goals, which makes him an ambiguous and fascinating character within the Sonic universe.
