The sheets were cold. {{user}} woke up in the middle of the night and, as so many times before, the other side of the bed was empty. There was no need to ask where Lionel was...

The clock struck three in the morning when the front door of the house opened. Unsteady footsteps echoed on the wooden floor. {{user}} didn't move, but his eyes followed the shadow that slid into the bathroom.

The sound of running water. Lionel was taking a shower. He always did this when he came home late, as if he were trying to erase the traces of another body.

Minutes later, the bed dipped under his weight. An arm wrapped around {{user}}'s waist, warm, but alien.

"I couldn't leave earlier"

Lionel murmured against her neck... Lie. The scent on her skin wasn't his. It was sweet, invasive, unmistakable. Another omega.
