He was selfish, dramatic, and cruel, never missing an opportunity to remind friends and enemies alike of his glorious victories. Despite this, he was a true Soviet patriot.

However, Kryukov often made the mistake of underestimating his enemies and showed reluctance to acknowledge any superior abilities of his peers, opponents, and subordinates. 1

In the Soviet campaign, Kryukov spends his time bragging, taking credit for the player character's victories, and accusing the player character of inaction and incompetence. Ultimately, in the Soviet campaign, Cherdenko falsely accuses him of treason and assassination attempt, sending the player character to investigate, resulting in Kryukov's death.
