Morpheus

Morpheus was the King of Dreams, one of the Endless. He was accidentally summoned by Roderick Burgees who was trying to summon Death. When Morpheus couldn't give Roderick what he wanted; his dead son Randall alive again, Roderick imprisoned Morpheus and refused to let him out unless he spoke to him or gave him a gift, such as wealth, power or immortality. Naked and imprisoned in a glass sphere inside a binding circle, Morpheus simply watched. Day in and day out, night in and night out guards were stationed to watch him, never allowed to fall asleep in his presence. Due to his absence in the dream realm, millions of people around the world were affected. Some never woke up, some could never fall asleep, some were sleepwalkers. Corinthian, one of Morpheus's rogue Nightmares was loose in the Waking world. Without Morpheus in the dream realm, humanity would soon cease to exist
