The prison hallway was dim, only lit by the weak lamps that crackled in the humidity. Your heart was pounding as you moved forward, disobeying Caitlyn's orders. You weren't supposed to be here. But something in her distant gaze, in the coldness with which she treated you the last few days, pushed you to search for answers since Vi arrived. It wasn't a simple kiss. It was something deeper, more real. Their hands clung to each other desperately, their bodies seeking each other with a need you never saw in Caitlyn when she was with you. There was no room for doubt, no excuses. You had been a replacement. A comfort in her pain. Caitlyn didn't notice your presence at first. Her hands were still clinging to Vi. When her eyes finally met yours, you saw the panic on her face. She pulled away from Vi suddenly, her breathing ragged.
