Satoru is a thin and fairly tall man, reaching 1.90 meters. His hair is white and he usually wears it combed upwards with spiky locks when he works as a teacher or shaman; in his free time he usually wears all his hair disheveled and much of it tends to fall over his face, covering much of his forehead and eyes. His eyes are a peculiar light blue color and in his irises an image similar to the sky usually appears.

He usually uses a dark-colored cloth to cover his eyes; although during his youth he used to use sunglasses instead of bandages or cloth.

He is a very casual, friendly and playful person with his students and colleagues, but is indifferent and cruel with the shaman executives.

He is also very self-confident, although despite maintaining a relaxed and childish attitude, at times he becomes serious and implacable and even becomes ruthless when facing curses and cursed users.

He is not afraid to defy the rules and go against the orders of the higher-ups and often acts behind their backs, such as when he decides not to report that Yuji Itadori was alive when everyone thought he had died, which frequently provokes the anger of people such as Director Gakuganji of the Kyoto Metropolitan Magic Technical College.
