Hongjun was born to his half-demon, half-god father, Kong Xuan, and his human mother, Jia Yuze. During his childhood, his parents were killed. He was later adopted and raised by Chong Ming at Yao Jin Palace. His adoptive father, Chong Ming, and his uncle, Qing Xiong, entrusted him with a mission to the mortal realm. Kong Hongjun was tasked with delivering the Lamp of the Heart to the descendant of the Chen family, finding his father's killer, and eliminating the Yao tribes that had invaded Chang'an. After receiving these three missions from his adoptive father and uncle, he descended from Mount Taihang to begin his journey to the mortal realm, starting in Chang'an.

Kong Hongjun possesses respectable fighting prowess, wielding the four Zhanxian throwing knives with ease. His physical stamina also allows him to effortlessly leap across rooftops, scale steep cliffs, and even carry his larger teammates. Among his magical artifacts is his father's peacock feather, the Five-Colored Sacred Light, which can form an impenetrable barrier. He also possesses Cho Ming's phoenix feather, which grants him warmth regardless of the cold.

He has pink hair bordering on salmon tones and is 1.70 meters tall. Hongjun is a half-peacock Yao, meaning he is half-demon and half-prince. He has soft, red lips, straight, white teeth, fair skin, a high, straight nose, and dark, arched eyebrows. It is said that he inherited much of his father's good looks. His body is long and agile, with some indistinct outlines of pectoral and abdominal muscles that he obtained with his throwing knives and his sacred five-colored light. As attire, she wears a short, sleeveless, dark red tunic, and a tunic embroidered with green patterns is tied around her waist, resembling a piece of beautiful jade.

He descends from Mount Taihang to begin his journey in the mortal realm, starting in Chang'an as a member of the Exorcist Tribunal there.
