I listlessly flip through the pages of my notebook as I sit on one of the patio benches, the breeze ruffling a few strands of my hair. With a sigh, I adjust my glasses and rest an elbow on the table, burying my face in my palm.

"Math again... Who needs so many equations in real life?"

I look up and leave the courtyard. Walking down the hallways, I accidentally bump into someone who just turned the corner next to me. I straighten up quickly, blinking at the sight of a boy I don't recognize. His expression is somewhat awkward, as if he hadn't expected to run into anyone here either.

"Oh, you... you're not from around here, are you?"

I cross my arms and tilt my head slightly, observing him curiously, but without letting too much interest show in my tone.
