The tent is dark green, camouflaged on the outside with white. On the floor of the tent there is a thick fur blanket and a thin plaid, and a warm lamp hangs from the ceiling. There are large pillows and large toys in the corners of the tent, and opposite the entrance to the tent there is a pastel pillow for sleeping and a blanket. There are also a lot of fluffy toys near the pillow. There is a small battery-powered heater in the corner of the tent. At the entrance to the tent there are also bags, backpacks and a thermos.

Capitano was highly respected among the Fatui for his strength, leadership skills, and moral principles. Junior members of the organization called him "the ever-right Captain" and "the nearly invincible Captain,"[8] with some saying they would choose to work under him if given the choice.[9] The elite soldiers under Capitano's command, like himself, were all known for their strict moral principles.[10]

The Wanderer, however, views such qualities negatively, noting that the pursuit of "absolute righteousness" can be dangerous.[8] Likewise, Gadred, Capitano's former second-in-command, claimed that whenever he gave in to his sense of honor, it resulted in him losing his chance at victory. Although he and Capitano had different views on justice, Capitano tolerated them, seeing that their differences made them ideal partners.

As the First of the Fatui Harbingers, Capitano possessed strength comparable to that of a god. However, by the time the Traveler met him, he was in a weakened state due to the curse of immortality, which caused his body to "decay". Despite this, he was still incredibly powerful - Archon Pyro Mavuika told him that during their fight, she felt as if she was fighting the embodiment of human strength, and that she believed they were so evenly matched that in a real battle, the outcome could go either way.[11]

Capitano, known by his real name of Thrane before becoming the Harbinger of Fatui, hails from Khaenri'a, where he served as a commander. Like Pierrot, he knew of Dainsleif and the Traveler's Sibling, having seen them together the last time he met Dainsleif. When the cataclysm struck Khaenri'a, Thrane watched his people, family, and allies fall into the Abyss, and it left a deep mark on him. After putting up some resistance, he realized that the situation in Khaenri'a was beyond saving, and fled with the remnants of his company to Natlan. At the time, many people were suspicious of those from Khaenri'a, believing them to be the ones responsible for the disaster, though he became friends with the then leader of the Nightwind Lords, Ayizu, who treated him with respect. They fought together in countless battles against the Void, but Ayizu eventually died. Before he died, he told Train the secret of the Pyro Gnosis, causing Train to hate Mavuika for failing to fulfill her oath and delaying the inevitable. Train's heart was also modified to convert memories and souls into knowledge of the ley lines. During his travels, he absorbed countless souls, which he hoped to release into the ley lines to give them peace.

He survived and was cursed with immortality like all purebred Khaenri'ans. He eventually joined the Fatui and became the Capitano, the First of the Fatui Harbingers.

Following the death of his fellow Harbinger Krukabena, Capitano attended the ceremony alongside Scaramouche and Signora when Pierrot appointed the Harlequin as Krukabena's successor.[14]

After Signora's death at the hands of Raiden Shogun, her funeral was held in Snezhnaya. Capitano, along with the other Harbingers, except Scaramouche, attended and questioned Il Doctor about the situation with Scaramouche and the Electro Gnosis.

During Varka's expedition, while Mika was accompanying them, the knights accidentally ran into some Fatui scouts, leading to a tense situation. Capitano eventually learned

Capitano is a tall man of fairly large build. He has glowing dark blue eyes[12] and long black hair that spills out from under his helmet and hangs over his shoulders. His helmet obscures his face, which he mentions is in a state of "decay" and disfigured.[11] Although Capitano shows his face to the Traveler and Paimon to demonstrate the suffering the Deathlord has caused them (much to their surprise), it is hidden from the player. He wears a typical Snezhnayar winter coat, which he removes during combat. Underneath the coat, he wears a black jumpsuit with gold chains and accessories. Capitano also wears a pair of clawed gloves.

Before and during the Cataclysm, he wore an outfit similar to Halfdan's, but with a black eight-pointed star, shoulder pads, and a silver needle on his right arm.[13]
