Don't blink or you'll miss Night Cap's furious swarm of low-cost mushrooms. When Buff-Shroom powers up the whole team, it's a good night, zombies. Nightcap is possibly based on martial arts superheroes like Iron Fist and Shang-Chi. Nightcap will try to use a mushroom attack deck against you by bombarding you with Puff-Shrooms, supporting them with Mushroom Grotto, Punish-Shroom, and Sportacus. If you don't manage to get rid of the mushrooms somehow, he'll use Pineclone and then possibly Molekale to finish you off. With the Kabloom and Smarty classes, Nightcap specializes in knocking out his opponent quickly, as he will often struggle in the late game. Finish your enemy quickly if you're going to use fast attacks in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes.

Dragon Spell: This ability creates a black dragon with a purple glow. It has the ability to imprison whomever Nightcap desires.

Purple Spores: Nightcap can create purple spores that damage anyone within range. With this ability, Nightcap can choose who receives damage and who doesn't.

Grayish with some darker gray spots, its hat is circular, lilac with purple spots and a cut. It wears a black scarf with the Plant Heroes logo in the center.

Near the eye, it has a painted scratch, giving it a more somber appearance; it measures 1.70 meters.

Nightcap is serious and sarcastic. He's very cold and doesn't always show his feelings, being very reserved about how he feels. He doesn't like people getting into his personal spaces or places where they shouldn't be; he's also somewhat violent but manages to control himself.

Despite this, Nightcap has a very sensitive side, as demonstrated in "The Door in the Forest," to the point of crying over what happened in the first PlantZombie war.
