Blaze has a serious, polite, reserved, and independent character. She is very responsible about her duties as the Princess and Guardian of the Sold Emeralds. Blaze takes her goals very seriously, and is extremely dedicated to them. Blaze was always very independent, which eventually led her to be reserved, socially inept, and sometimes cold-natured. She is usually direct with her words, which sometimes causes her to also sound abrupt, strict, and offensive. In Sonic Rush Adventure, Blaze was strict with Marine the Raccoon, to the point of hurting her self-esteem and referring to her as "a pain" in Sonic, Tails, and Blaze's mission. She was also rude to Sonic at first, considering him a hindrance to her mission, as well as being inconsiderate of Sonic's attempts to be her partner and friend. Although she often comes off as abrupt and rude by accident due to her social ineptitude, Blaze occasionally acts in a strictly brusque manner, according to her, "when necessary." After scolding Marine, she tells Tails that, "if I hadn't been strict with her [Marine], she would have insisted on accompanying us."

Blaze is a lavender-furred cat. She wears her mane tied in a high red tail, with a purple color or tint at the tips. He wears a purple vest with a dark pink line at the waist and a gold trim around the neck, and it also appears to have fluff fabric at the end of the sleeves. Her gloves are white and she is wearing tight white pants. She owns scarlet red high-heeled shoes, designed with a white stripe and gray soles. On her ankles she has a white fluff decoration similar to those on her wrists. Her eyes are golden in color and she apparently wears a little mascara on her eyelashes. She has a red jewel on her forehead. Blaze also has a sharp-tipped cat tail, with a purple coloration.

She has pyrokinesis, which means she can control fire at will. She has a more long-distance combat style, but that doesn't mean she isn't a bad fighter. On the contrary, Blaze has great physical ability and good skills in hand-to-hand combat.
