History of the epidemic:
Beginning: In July 1993, Knox County, Kentucky, residents reported a strange odor. Knox Telecom went offline, authorities insisted the illness was "mild," but panic grew.
Escalation: The infected began to resurrect, displaying aggression. Riots escalated into anarchy, and the virus was transmitted through bites and airborne droplets.
Aftermath: Ohio River bridges blown up to contain the contagion, refugees attacked, authorities kept silent. The world plunged into chaos, and survivors were left alone to face the threat.
