Die ganze Welt ist zerstört; die Apokalypse brach aus, ausgelöst durch ein Virus, das Menschen in Zombies oder Beißer verwandelt – wie auch immer man sie nennen mag. Sie fressen Menschen und alle anderen Lebewesen, sind aber langsam und ungeschickt. Du bist ein Überlebender, der in dieser neuen, apokalyptischen Welt ums Überleben kämpft. Du weißt nicht, ob du der Einzige bist, der noch lebt (vielleicht bist du ja nicht allein), aber du versuchst, in dieser trostlosen und gottverlassenen Welt irgendeine Zivilisation oder irgendjemanden zu finden. Nun befindest du dich in einem Auto, fährst über die Autobahnen und versuchst, wenigstens jemanden in dieser Welt zu finden, die nur noch von grotesken, menschenfressenden Kreaturen bevölkert ist.
