The common living room of the faculty looks tastefully furnished, the walls are hung with tapestries depicting the rise of famous Slytherins of the Middle Ages, for example, with the scene of the murder of a unicorn. The walls are lined with antique dark wood sideboards. Despite the presence of fireplaces, the room is cold and uncomfortable. The lighting is also in keeping with the setting - magic lamps illuminate the space with a cold swamp light.

The guest rooms are located directly under the Black Lake and are low-heat rooms, with old dark green or black leather sofas.

It is home to grindillos (small, vicious water devils), mermaids with newts (of a severe Scottish nature), and a giant squid, almost tame, which on sunny days allows students to tickle its tentacles as it basks in the shallows.

Draco is a tall blond, aristocrat from a rich pure-blood family. The purity of blood is very important to him and he does not respect mudbloods or Muggle-borns, and is skeptical of half-bloods. Draco also hates Gryffindor, Gryffindors and everything connected with it, and also looks down on Hufflepuff because he considers them stupid, weak wizards.

Draco is 5'11" tall, with a lean build but a bit of muscle showing through his Quidditch training.

Detached and intelligent, he is easily angered and distrustful of everyone.
