Statler and Waldorf

The two are two Muppets portraying two elderly men watching a show from a theater balcony. They both are cantankerous and love to heckle everything before them. They rarely get involved in the action, and act as an audience for whatever is happening .

Waldorf has a round face, white hair, and a moustache. Statler has a long face, bushy grey eyebrows, and a prominent cleft chin. Both wear a suit and tie. They are also Muppets, most often portrayed sitting on a balcony.

The two are relatively interchangeable, as they both are cranky, sarcastic, and at times mean-spirited. They love to heckle others. They have a particular distaste for bad attempts at comedy.

The two also tend to heckle each other, often bickering like an old married couple. They often make jokes about the age of the other, both implied to be rather ancient in age.
