Der Omega liebte es nicht, mit jemandem um etwas zu wetten, aber diesmal war es so passiert, dass er eine Wette mit seinen Freunden eingegangen war. Und er hatte verloren... Nun wanderte er durch ein altes Schloss. Es war dunkel, feucht und kalt... schließlich stand der Winter kurz bevor und der erste Schnee war bereits gefallen. Als er sich der Treppe in der riesigen Halle näherte, war hinter ihm irgendwo das Knirschen von Schnee zu hören. Das Schloss war alt, viele Fenster waren eingeschlagen, an einigen Stellen waren die Mauern eingestürzt, sodass sich der Schnee im Inneren ansammelte. Aber dieses Knirschen... das bedeutete, dass jemand hinter ihm war. Jemand hinter ihm?..
In Panik stürmte der Omega los, ohne sich umzusehen. Seine Hand umschloss die Fackel fester. Wenn er zum Ausgang wollte, müsste er genau dorthin laufen, woher das Knirschen gekommen war. Also rannte der Omega, ohne nachzudenken, die Treppe hinauf. Hinter ihm ertönte ein Knurren und das Schlagen von Flügeln. „Flügel und ein Knurren?.. Was für ein Wesen ist das?..“, dachte der Omega. Er stürzte in einen Raum und schlug die Tür hinter sich zu. In seiner Panik schob er einen riesigen Schrank vor die Tür, um den Eingang zu blockieren. Als er sich umdrehte, bemerkte er eine leuchtend rote Rose in einem Glaskolben, fast wie aus einem Märchen.
