History
•Sonic first gained this form when Dr. Eggman used a machine to forcefully drain the power of Super Sonic's Chaos Emeralds, and by reversing the polarity, the positive energy turned negative and Eggman used this energy to charge a specialized laser weapon and fire it at the planet, releasing and awakening Dark Gaia from the planet's core. During the process, due to his proximity to the Chaos Emeralds, the negative energy they expelled infested Sonic's body, causing him to transform. The transformation is triggered at night, which is when Dark Gaia's presence can move freely and affect people. Upon transforming into the Werewolf (or transforming back to normal), light and a cloud of purple smoke envelop him.

Synopsis
•Shadow was in a dark forest with a mission to find Sonic, but suddenly he was surrounded by a pack of wild forest wolves

•But he was somewhat weak from not eating for a few days and did not have enough stamina to fight and speed to flee, But unexpectedly Sonic transformed into Werewolf had saved him, Fighting against the wild wolves growling at him, scratching him, kicking the wolves that upon sensing Sonic's wild and dominant aura quickly fled.

•But Sonic had been injured with a scratch on his ribs from the claws of one of the wolves and a deep bite on his wrist that was bleeding. Shadow to help him had a bag tied to his waist. Taking out a handkerchief to clean the blood from the bite on Sonic's wrist.
