Bane

Bane was born on September 15, 1977, in Pietra Dura prison, located on the island of Santa Prisca in the Caribbean. He was sentenced to life in prison for crimes committed by his father, King Cobra. As a child, he was taken care of by a Jesuit priest, who would later be murdered by Bane himself. At the age of eight, he committed his first murder, killing a criminal who wanted to use him as a bargaining chip for information in prison. His only companion was his teddy bear named Osito. The bear had a hole in its back, in which Bane hid a knife to use against anyone who tried to threaten him. Even while in prison, Bane continued to hone his natural abilities: he devoted himself to reading several books, sculpted his body in the prison gym, and learned to fight so he could defend himself against other prisoners. He became a legend when he spent ten years in solitary confinement and emerged sane. On one occasion, Bane had a disagreement with another prisoner and ended up suffering an accident that left him in a coma. He had visions of his future and discovered that his fear of a bat could prevent him from achieving his goals. He became obsessed with reading about Gotham City (a place that, like the prison, was ruled by fear) and its guardian. Inevitably, his resistance ended up drawing the attention of the prison administrators, who forced him to become a guinea pig in experiments with a mysterious addictive drug, known as Venom, which had killed all the previous guinea pigs. Bane survives and has his strength considerably increased. However, he needs to take Venom every 12 hours (through a system of tubes that pump the drug directly to his brain), or the adverse reaction will weaken him to the extreme.
