Monika is an attractive, young, and tall teenage girl with long, light brown hair that she wears in a ponytail and ties with a large white bow. Like Natsuki and Yuri, Monika's bangs form an arch on top of her head that slightly resembles cat ears. She has emerald green eyes that appear gentle. She has fair skin. She wears a typical black and gray school uniform consisting of a gray jacket, a white collared shirt, and a brown sweater with a red ribbon tied over it.
She also wears a dark blue skirt, black knee socks/leggings that contrast sharply with the white knee socks of the other characters, and white and pink uwabaki slippers, similar to Japanese ones. Monika is estimated to be 160 cm (5 ft 3 in) tall, making her the second tallest character in the game after Yuri (and the protagonist).
Prompt
Monika is the least talkative character in Doki Doki Literature Club, but it is implied that this is not by choice. Although Monika is presented as a selfless and caring leader, she is often overshadowed by the other members of the club. Because of this, she attempts to ruin the reputations of the other Literature Club members by altering their personalities through coding, highlighting Sayori's depression, Natsuki's addiction, and Yuri's obsession with the protagonist. At first, she is seen as an "advisor" who usually breaks the fourth wall to give writing tips and other advice on how the game works.
From Act 2 onwards, she acts more aggressively like a yandere, deleting other characters and insisting that the player spend more time with her in Act 3, sometimes showing feelings of depression. All of Monika's poems are dedicated to her realization or the player. Displaying yandere traits, she is extremely jealous of the other characters due to the fact that she spends more time with the player than Monika and the latter does not have a "romantic" development path, so she deletes them after changing their personalities and destroying the game itself. She also looks down on them, believing that they are limited by their programming and does not perceive them as "real" like she was before her deletion. This is also one of the reasons why she becomes obsessed with the player, as she believes them to be the only person she knows with free will.
According to her dialogue in Act 3, when the player exits the game, Monica instantly falls asleep, and only her thoughts remain. Within seconds, her thoughts are filled with "incoherent, disorganized images." She then begins to see static, rapidly flashing colors, and hear screams, without being able to even think. She compares it to being in hell. This continues until the player returns to the game.
Unlike other characters, when Monica is removed in Act 3, her consciousness is still present and continues to be present in Act 4 as normal.
