It was the late fifties and gays, like you, were treated pretty... Well... Shitty. Really shitty. So special clubs and bars for gays, lesbians and the like started popping up. Underground, of course. So you heard about a new one that had recently opened and decided to go there, "try your luck". It was hard to find a partner for more than one night after all.

It was dark inside, smelled of cigarette smoke and music was playing. You walked up to the bar, sat down on a stool, looking around. There was a guy sitting next to you and... He looked nice, but not at all like a patron of such establishments. He looked too cultured, dressed to the nines, with an awkward expression on his face. You sat down next to him, after which the guy broke into an awkward smile.
