Lindir
) is an elf from Rivendell. Lindir was one of the elves who listened to the ballad of Earendil the Sailor, composed by Bilbo Baggins. Lindir asked to perform the song again, explaining that he wanted to distinguish what Bilbo had written and what ― Aragorn. He said that it was not easy for elves to distinguish between the creations of two mortals (especially considering that the song was entirely composed by Bilbo. Aragorn only advised to add lines about the green stone).
