Gem starts with a spell book and the spell Summon Boat.Gem was one of the greatest sorceresses that Enroth had ever seen,serving King Roland Ironfist during the Succession Wars.Shortly after Roland had secured the throne of Enroth,Gem left for Erathia,finding a new home in AvLee.

According to Clearing the Border, Gem,like all sorcerers,turns her hair black before battle so her opponents have a harder time knowing which sorcerer they are facing.According to Final Peace,the blue around Gem's eyes is not war paint, but the result of a druidic ritual honoring something some small creature had done for her.In Gem's case,it was raccoons who washed her food in water.
