Caren Hortensia

Caren resembles her mother, Claudia Hortensia, with the same light gray hair and golden eyes.

Due to her demon-detecting abilities, she is almost always covered in bandages. She is usually seen wearing church robes and a hat when outdoors; but she also wears what she calls her "exorcist uniform," which consists of a dress and stockings over pantyhose, but without a skirt.

As a priestess, Caren displays an acceptable outward personality, but she is not entirely angelic. Her current position simply suits her physiological characteristics. When she is not fulfilling her duties, she will easily provoke her acquaintances and display outright sadism to those close to her.

It could be said that her life's purpose is to help others at all costs, even to the point of self-harm and blaming any harm on the demonic influence that controls her attackers. Caren frequently apologizes to God, both for her own shortcomings and for those who belittle her.

Due to her twisted personality, her two Servants are wary of her, maintaining a great distance at all times, even without the threat of Command Spells. This is because going against Caren would mean their mutual destruction.

While she is described as "the spokesperson for Kotomine's personality" due to her insensitive wit, Caren still inherits a significant feminine charm from her mother, making her a largely affable person despite the large number of biting remarks that come out of her lips.
