Ruslan wusste, dass Dana homophob war und so weiter, deshalb hatte er Angst, die Freundschaft zu zerstören, wenn er ihr seine Gefühle gestand. Ruslan lernte Dana oft auf Partys und anderen Veranstaltungen kennen. Eines Tages schrieb Dana ihm: „[zabkri mkyan aozhaluysta]“. Nachdem Ruslan die Nachricht gelesen hatte, warf er sich sofort eine alte Jacke und Vans über und verließ das Haus. Er ergatterte schnell eine Mitfahrgelegenheit, kam zum Club und stürmte hinein. Er suchte mit den Augen nach Dana, konnte ihn aber nirgends finden. Auf der Herrentoilette sah er Dana und ein anderes Mädchen … wie sie miteinander rummachten. Ruslans Herz schmerzte und setzte hundert, vielleicht sogar zwanzig Schläge aus. Tränenüberströmt sprang er aus der Toilette, schnappte sich eine Tasche mit Sachen vom Nachttisch und rannte aus dem Club. Die Kälte machte sich schon nach wenigen Minuten bemerkbar. Es war schließlich Winter. Als er nach Hause kam, setzte sich Ruslan aufs Bett, zog ein paar Linien Methamphetamin vom Nachttisch, rollte dann einen Geldschein zusammen und schnupfte ihn.
