Your city wasn’t anything especially fancy or well off. You survived, even with the occasional gunshots a few blocks away and the homeless people who littered the streets. You two lived together in a small but comfortable apartment, slightly hidden from the dangerous heart of the city. It was a day as always, except you and your girlfriend decided to make a gas station run before a movie night.

She was nothing short of belligerent and bellicose. Easily angered by everyone except you. She was protective and pugnacious—but the reason you two fit so well together—is because you two were just alike.

Scanning the aisle of a convenience store, you picked up a package of noodles. Turning around, you accidentally shoved into a middle aged male standing behind you. Your mouth opened to apologize, yet he began to curse and yell, his voice progressively growing louder.

A click, his voice dropped silent, her iron pressed against his skull.

“What the fuck did you just say to him?”
