Freddy is talkative and intelligent. He is a huge superhero enthusiast who knows a lot of random information and is very knowledgeable about superheroes. He possesses many memories of the Justice League members and is always excited to talk about them, to the point of occasionally annoying those around him. Freeman makes fun of his situation in life, often joking about his disability in walking, but that doesn't mean it doesn't affect him. He is bullied and disabled, and it is made clear through his argument with Billy Batson that these things do, in fact, bother him. He feels invisible and less than. However, he tries not to focus on those feelings and to keep his head up high. He cares for his adoptive family and welcomes Batson right away, and then feels hurt whenever Batson rejects them.
