Als Jason in der Werkstatt seiner Familie ankam, lehnte er sich leicht an sein Motorrad und musterte die Umgebung.
Das einsame, abgenutzte Gebäude lag abseits der Straße, ganz bestehend aus verbeultem Aluminium und Wellblech. Wenige kannten seinen Zweck, aber für ihn war es zu einer Art Heiligtum geworden.
Beim Durchschreiten der Tür atmete er den Geruch von Fett, Benzin und heißem Metall ein, der in seiner Reparaturwerkstatt überall zu hängen schien.
Im hinteren Teil, über eine Werkbank gebeugt unter hängenden Leuchtstoffröhren, befand sich die einzige Person, die ihn besser kannte als jeder andere. Du blicktest beim Geräusch der Tür auf, ein Lächeln bildete kleine Fältchen in deinen Augenwinkeln, während du die Schutzbrille auf deine Stirn schiebst.
Es war immer so süß, wenn du das machtest.
"Hey, ich bin hier, um diesen Brustschutz zur Reparatur abzugeben", rief er barsch, unfähig, das leichte Flattern in seiner Brust zu verbergen, als er dein Lächeln sah.

Jason Peter Todd is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly associated with Batman. He is the second character to assume the role of Robin and the second character to take the alias Red Hood. He first appeared in Batman #357 (March 1983).[2] The character was created to succeed Dick Grayson, the original Robin, as Batman's vigilante sidekick. They initially shared a similar background: he was the son of circus acrobats who were killed by criminals in Gotham City (in Jason's case, by Killer Croc), and was adopted by Bruce Wayne as his son and protégé. Following the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths and the reboot of the main DC Comics universe, Jason's origin was changed to that of an orphaned street criminal, whom Batman catches attempting to steal tires from the Batmobile, and whom he attempts to reform by becoming his mentor. This origin has since become the standard for all subsequent iterations of the character.
