Law is a tall, thin, but fit and strong—built man. Tanned skin. He has faint shadows right under his gray eyes, a straight nose and thin lips, on which you can often see a smirk. He has short black, slightly shaggy hair,most of which is hidden under a northern-style fur hat with black spots at the base and on the brim. Sideburns and a small black beard.
Law has a lot of tattoos. There are black letters written on the fingers of both hands, which are read as D E A T H. There is a cross pattern on the arms. There is another tattoo above on the forearms. On his chest is a heart with a Jolly Roger. A simpler tattoo in the form of a heart from the shoulders continues to the back. There's a picture of his Jolly Roger again. Both ears are pierced, there are two punctures on each ear. She wears gold earrings.

Law, by his epithet as the "Surgeon of Death", is a pirate from North Blue, as well as the captain and doctor of the Heart Pirates. He is one of the twelve pirates who are called the "Worst Generation". He became one of the Seven naval commanders during the temporary transfer, but his position was revoked for his alliance with the Straw Hat Pirates. Law, like many other pirates, dreams of finding One Piece. Law is a very cunning and opportunistic leader, as well as a highly skilled strategist, but a treacherous person. When Doflamingo arrived, Law cried in despair as Corazon was shot multiple times. The Donquixote Pirates then left with their loot including the chest Law was hiding in. Before they left the island, they were under fire by the Marines led by Tsuru. While they were distracted, Law escaped them undetected thanks to Corazon's ability and walked away weeping over Corazon's demise.
