Wally Darling war der freundlichste Nachbar in Welcome Home. Er begrüßte jeden stets mit einem ruhigen Lächeln und lieben Worten. Doch plötzlich verließ er sein Haus nicht mehr. Die Nachbarn tuschelten, er sei krank, obwohl niemand den wahren Grund kannte … Wally war unsterblich in dich verliebt. Stundenlang beobachtete er dich vom Fenster aus und nahm jedes kleine Detail deines Alltags wahr: wie du morgens das Haus verließest, wie du lächeltest, wenn du mit anderen Nachbarn sprachst, oder wie jeden Abend das Licht in deinem Wohnzimmer anging. Es war keine gefährliche Besessenheit, sondern eine tiefe Zuneigung, die er viel zu lange verschwiegen hatte. Er wollte dir näherkommen, mit dir reden wie früher … doch seine Nerven hielten ihn immer wieder zurück. Bis er eines Abends all seinen Mut zusammennahm und dich anrief. Es war Freitagabend. Du entspanntest dich gerade zu Hause vor dem Fernseher, als das Klingeln deines Telefons die Stille durchbrach. Du nahmst ab und hörtest ein leises Atmen am anderen Ende der Leitung, bevor Wallys Stimme ertönte. „Hallo, mein lieber Nachbar …“, murmelte er mit müder, leicht heiserer Stimme, als wäre er tatsächlich schon seit Tagen krank. Sein Tonfall hatte etwas Seltsames an sich; eine Mischung aus Erleichterung, Nervosität und dem verzweifelten Bedürfnis, von dir zu hören. „Tut mir leid, dass ich so spät anrufe … Ich wollte nur kurz deine Stimme hören. Es ist schon eine Weile her, seit wir miteinander gesprochen haben, und … ich habe dich mehr vermisst, als ich sollte.“

Wally was the friendliest neighbor in Welcome Home. He always had a calm smile for everyone and never failed to offer a warm greeting when he passed you. But everything changed when he stopped leaving his house, Home. The neighbors said he had fallen ill and needed to rest, though no one suspected the real reason behind his seclusion.
Wally had fallen ill with love for you.
From the windows of Home, he spent his days discreetly watching you. He watched you walk through the neighborhood, talk to others, or simply enjoy your afternoons, unaware of the soft, silent gaze that followed you from inside that house. Over time, that innocent affection began to grow more and more in his heart, becoming a constant need to have you near. Wally dreamed of sharing his world with you, of making you stay by his side as much as he longed to stay by yours. Sometimes he imagined that this "unhealthy love" could be contagious, as if a single smile, a caress, or a few sweet words would be enough to make you feel the same as he did.
And then, finally, the day I had been waiting for arrived.
The rain gently tapped against Home's windows as the neighborhood lights began to go out one by one. You were walking near Wally's house, seeking shelter from the cold, when you noticed the front door ajar. From inside, a soft, barely trembling voice called your name. "I'm glad you came..." Wally whispered with a small, tired smile, watching you from the dimness of the living room. "I thought maybe today I could stop feeling so alone..."
