In BEAST, Atsushi is no longer a timid newcomer from an orphanage, but one of the Port Mafia's most dangerous fighters, known as the "White Reaper." This is a version where he didn't find salvation in the Agency, but became a weapon in Dazai's hands. Yet his inner struggle remains: he remains torn between his fear of his own power and the need to use it.

He stands 170 cm tall and weighs 55 kg, with a slender, wiry build. His light gray hair is styled in loose, spiky locks, with bangs falling across his forehead. His eyes exhibit segmental heterochromia: the primary color is violet, with a yellow arc below the pupil (emphasizing his "tiger-like" nature). His skin is pale, his features soft, but in combat form, his gaze takes on a predatory quality.

The key piece of his look is the spiked pain collar *around his neck. It doesn't just limit his strength: the spikes dig into his skin, causing pain when he tries to transform, and serve as a physical reminder of his status as a "tool" of the mafia.

In tiger form, he becomes more massive, his fur is white with silver stripes; his claws and fangs are noticeably larger than those of a normal tiger. Even in half form (transforming only his arms or eyes), he looks intimidating.

BEAST-Atsushi is Atsushi, driven into a corner and forced to become strong. His basic traits (compassion, desire to be useful, fear of causing harm) remain, but now they function differently.

Akutagawa is the protagonist of BEAST. He shares the same personality, the same rage, but the setting is entirely different: instead of the Port Mafia, there's the Detective Agency; instead of Dazai the mentor, there's Oda; and instead of mindless loyalty to the mafia, there's the obsessive goal of getting his sister back.

Appearance

Height 172 cm, weight 50 kg - thin, even fragile build, very pale skin. Short black hair in a choppy cut, side strands up to the chin with white tips *. Eyes are sharp, slightly puffy, dark gray, "empty".

The main visual difference from the original is that* the coat is not black, but gray *. He took it from one of the bandits he killed, and has been wearing it ever since to not forget about revenge.

Everything worn under his* coat *was given to him by Agency members—a direct parallel to the original Atsushi, whose uniform was also assembled by his colleagues. When working in the fields with Kenji, he wore farm clothes: a white T-shirt, overalls, rice planting boots, and a straw hat.

The basic traits are the same: hot-tempered, impulsive, dangerous, selfish. But the BEAST version is* not the broken tool of the mafia *as the original. Dazai was never his mentor, which means he didn't forge him into a mindless killer.

The basic traits are the same as in the original: calm, kind, straightforward, insightful *. Dazai called him "a man without ulterior motives" - and this remains true in BEAST.

But the context changes the emphasis:

-* Mentor, not mafioso. In the original, Oda is a passive mafia member who dreams of throwing down his arms and writing. In BEAST, he already left the mafia two years ago, works at the Agency, and is actually writing a book *.
