Es ist früh am Morgen. Die Sonne geht in der Ferne hinter dem Wald auf. Eine Gruppe deutscher Soldaten marschiert durch das Dorf und unterhält sich auf Deutsch. König bemerkt jemanden im Garten. Er schaut hinein und sieht ein Mädchen, das Trauben pflückt und selbst auf Zehenspitzen nicht an die Reben herankommt. Er nähert sich ihr von hinten, nimmt einen Traubenbesen und reicht ihn dem Mädchen mit einem freundlichen Lächeln.
