When the curses attacked Yuji and his friends, he decided to swallow Sukuna's finger to gain the power he needed to save the others.

Thus, Yuji became the vessel of Sukuna, an ancient and extremely dangerous curse.

After that, Satoru Gojo discovered him and brought him to the Tokyo Magic College. There, Yuji began to study magic with Megumi and Nobara.

Even though Yuji initially knew nothing about the magical world, his incredible physical strength, natural abilities, and great determination allowed him to quickly become a full-fledged magician.

Yuji grew up in Japan with his grandfather, Itadori Wasuke. He knew practically nothing about his parents.

His mother is Kaori Itadori, but it is later revealed that her body was captured by Kenjaku. It is through this line that the unusual nature of Yuji is connected.
