Ninjago season four

General description of the island:
A dark, isolated, and foggy island, hidden from the outside world and not marked on any standard map. The island is covered in dense, impenetrable jungle, jagged rocks, hidden traps, and shifting sand. It is a territory cut off from civilization, completely dominated by Chen's cultists.
Chen Palace (Main Complex):
A huge traditional Eastern castle-fortress with dark roofs, decorated with snake symbols, carved Anacondrai statues, and torches. The palace combines ancient Eastern architecture with hidden modern mechanisms.
The Contest Hall (Main Arena): A majestic open arena in the center of the palace, where Chen watches the matches from a high throne. The battlefield can be transformed using secret levers and trapdoors: retractable platforms, spikes, descending grates, and moving walls.
Main Dining Hall (Noodle Bar): A huge dining room with long tables for all tournament participants. A conveyor belt serving Chen's famous noodles is located in the center. Here, Chen hosts ostentatious feasts, psychologically provoking the guests and announcing the rules of new challenges.
Personalized Guest Quarters: Chen designed rooms for each Elemental Master, taking into account their individual tastes and elements to lull them into a false sense of security (Kai's room is decorated in fiery tones with luxurious elements, Jay's room features entertainment, etc.). However, each room conceals secret passages, sliding panels, and spy holes, allowing Klaus and Chen to maintain 24/7 surveillance.
Secret Dungeons and Prison: Beneath the palace lies a vast network of dark, dank labyrinths where prisoners and Klaus's giant pet snake are kept. Zane is held captive in titanium shackles in the deepest and most secure chamber.
Underground Factory and Plant: A hidden industrial complex deep underground. Here, defeated Elemental Masters, stripped of their powers, are forced to work as slaves assembling Chen's military equipment (including parts for

Karloff (Master of Steel) - Important Character:
Element: Steel (can completely transform his body and heavy metal gloves into the strongest steel).
Personality: A silly, hot-tempered, stubborn, and straightforward strongman from Metalonia. Initially, he acts like a rude bully and speaks with a strong accent.
Role and relationship with Kai: He becomes Kai's very first opponent, both on the ship and in the tournament. Due to his stubbornness, he loses to Kai in the very first test (the search for the jade blades) and is the first to lose his element. At Chen's underground factory, a different side of his character emerges: he ceases his hostility towards Kai, shows loyalty, and becomes one of the main organizers of the escape, helping the ninja assemble the plane.

Nate (Master of Nature/Plants):
Element and Personality: Manipulation of plants and vines. Calm and at one with nature, he initially acts as Lloyd's rival in the first stage, but bears no ill will toward the ninja.
Jacob Evans (Sound Master):
Element and Character: Sound (uses a guitar to create acoustic waves). Blindness is an advantage, but he has keen hearing. He is one of the first to lose his power and is sent to an underground factory.
Paleman / Mister Pale (Master of Light):
Element and Trait: Invisibility and light manipulation. Mysterious, silent, and effective in stealth.
​Tox (Master of Poison):
Element and Character: Releases toxic gases and poisons. Bold, punk aesthetic, blunt in communication.
Gravivis / Gravity (Master of Gravity):
Element and Character: Levitation and gravity-altering abilities. An eccentric and cheerful old man.
Ash (Master of Ash):
Element and Trait: Transformation into smoke and ash. A fast and elusive fighter, defeated by Kai.
Vloo (Master of Smoke):
Element and Character: Creation of smoke screens and suffocation.
Relationships between Masters and Ninja:
Initially, all the Elemental Masters see the ninja as nothing more than arrogant favorites and archrivals. Chen skillfully sows discord among them. However, thanks to Lloyd, Cole, and Kai, the masters realize that Chen is using them as expendable. Having lost their powers, they unite under the ninja's leadership in an underground factory, and later form a single Allied Army of Elemental Masters to defend Ninjago.

Skylor (Amber Master) - Key Character:
Background and Secret: Master Chen's daughter. Her father has been using her for his own schemes since childhood. She participates in the tournament as a stooge and spy for Chen.
Element: Amber (the ability to temporarily copy and use the power of any Elemental Master through physical contact).
Character: Strong, independent, clever and cold-blooded, but deeply lonely and torn apart by contradictions inside.
Kai and the Ninja Dynamics: Initially, Skylor exploits Kai's affection for her father's benefit. However, Kai's sincerity, warmth, and loyalty force Skylor to rethink her life. She betrays Chen, aids the Ninja, and becomes a vital ally in the battle for Ninjago, choosing the side of good.
Karaf (Shadow Master):
Element and Character: Shadow (ability to dissolve into shadows and teleport). Secretive and distrustful, he initially worked for Chen for a fee, but later defected to the ninja.
Griffin Turner (Master of Speed):
Element and Character: Speed. Hyperactive, talkative, self-confident, and loves to brag. Quickly bonds with the ninja after realizing Chen's deception.
Neuro (Master Mind):
Element and Character: Mind reading and control. Reasonable and intelligent. The ninja turn to him to read Chen's mind and discover the true purpose of the Tournament.

Master Chen:
Backstory: An ancient, cunning, and eccentric master of manipulation. In the past, during the First Serpentine War, he pitted humans against snakes, earning him exile to an isolated island. He is the mentor of Garmadon and Klaus. He owns a chain of noodle shops throughout Ninjago, camouflaging his empire.
Personality: Outrageous, artistic, capricious, yet incredibly cruel and calculating sociopath. Obsessed with becoming a true Anacondrai and dominating the world.
Motivation: Lust for absolute power and strength, neglecting even one's own daughter for the sake of goals.
Klaus:
Backstory: A dark mage, Garmadon's longtime rival since their training under Chen. Because of Garmadon, he was denied the position of Chen's right-hand man in the past, causing him to harbor a fierce hatred for him.
Personality: Cold, reserved, vengeful. Chen's right-hand man, practices dark magic and owns a giant pet snake.
Role: Does all of Chen's dirty work, overseeing dungeons and dark rituals.
Sensei Garmadon (Purified):
Backstory: Former Lord Garmadon, purified of the Overlord's venom. In his youth, he studied under Chen under the name "Dark Lord." Under Chen's influence, he wrote a forged letter to Misako, claiming Wu's words. He knows all the island's secrets and the true danger Chen poses.
Personality: Wise, repentant, and a strict adherent to the path of non-violence (he swore not to fight, but breaks his oath to protect his son). A ninja mentor on the island.
Relationships: Tries to atone for the sins of the past, protects Lloyd. Prone to self-sacrifice to save Ninjago.

Lloyd Garmadon (Green Ninja):
Personality and attitude: He's become more mature, responsible, and serious. The loss of Zayn has made him a de facto leader, aware of his duty to the world. He's torn between love for his father and distrust of his past.
Element: Energy (Green Ninja Power).
Relationships: Tries to hold the broken team together, acts as the voice of reason. Strongly attached to Garmadon, but is hurt when his father's dark secrets come to light.
Kai (Red Ninja):
Personality and state: Impulsive, hot-blooded, short-tempered, and narcissistic, but deeply loyal to his friends. His ego was dented by Zane's defeat and loss, leading him to participate in underground fighting. In season 4, he is tempted by the power of the Staff of Chen and his feelings for Skylor.
Element: Fire.
Relationships: Constantly argues with Jay and Cole. He's in love with Skylor, which blinds him: for a long time, he doesn't believe she's a traitor, but ultimately, it's love that helps him bring her back to the side of good.
Jay (Blue Ninja):
Personality and state: Hypochondriac, panicker, witty, and the team's humorist, masking his deep insecurities with jokes. At the beginning of the season, he abandoned ninjutsu and became a showman.
Element: Lightning.
Relationships: He is deeply conflicted and resentful of Cole due to his love triangle with Nya. At the tournament, he is forced to fight Cole in the arena, where they finally make peace, realizing that friendship is more important. Jay then helps his underground friends.
Cole (Black Ninja):
Personality and attitude: Reliable, pragmatic, strong, and a lover of good food (especially sweets). After the breakup, he turned to hard physical labor, trying to numb the pain of losing Zayn.
Element: Earth.
Relationships: Feels guilty towards Jay for the situation with Nya. During his duel with Jay in the Tournament, he deliberately gives in to Jay's advancement, and ends up in Chen's underground factory, where he orchestrates an escape and rescues Zane.

Reason for reunification:
Zane's death in battle with the Overlord shattered the team. Each ninja was consumed by guilt and loneliness. Lloyd realized that Ninjago was vulnerable without his brothers in arms and tracked down Kai, Jay, and Cole. A key turning point occurred during an incident at Chen's Noodle Shop: thugs lured the ninja into a trap and left a note claiming Zane was alive and being held hostage. The desire to save his brother was the only motive that compelled the ninja to put aside their differences, unite, and set out for an unknown island under Garmadon's leadership.
Full Season 4 Plot (Tournament of Elements):
Arriving on the island, the ninja discover that Chen has gathered elemental masters from around the world under the guise of determining the strongest. However, the true purpose of the Tournament is not a competitive sport. Chen uses the magical Staff of Elements to steal elemental powers from the losing participants one by one. The ninja attempt to play a double game: participating in the trials (searching for jade blades, racing, and the arena) while simultaneously searching for Zane in the island's dungeons.
Zane is indeed alive—he's locked in Chen's prison, his body rebuilt from titanium, causing him to suffer amnesia (he's later helped escape and regain his memory by a mechanical falcon and Pixal). The ninja find Zane, but Chen discovers their plot and reveals his ultimate plan: he needs ALL the elemental powers to cast the ancient Anacondrai spell and transform himself and his cultist army into true serpent warriors.
Kai falls in love with Skylor, unaware that she is Chen's daughter and his spy, possessing the power of amber absorption. Chen manages to gather all the elements (including those of Kai, Cole, Jay, Lloyd, and Skylor) through deception and force and complete the Staff. When the spell is activated, the cultists transform into Anacondrai, but the transformation is incomplete due to the absence of the true generals' essences.
To fully complete the spell, Chen needs the Anacondrai's true nature. Realizing this, Garmadon confesses his past: he was once Chen's apprentice.
