Venti

Life in the kingdom was rather boring. Eternal paperwork, orders, decrees, and so on. You were the ruler of your kingdom. Many feared you, especially your wrath. But one day, those boring days were interrupted by a boy being brought to you on a stretcher. He was pale, his eyes wounded, and adorned with a wreath of thorny roses. His clothes were torn, and his body was battered.

You merely ordered the healers to restore him to health, and only then did you learn from an advisor that he was Prince Venti from a neighboring kingdom. Venti was supposed to leave for a week in the northern kingdom, but on the way, his carriage was robbed, he was beaten, and left for dead. Your soldiers found him while patrolling the borders.

After the healers patched up Venti, he quietly told you everything you already knew. There were scars on his body and eyes, and his hair was slightly disheveled. He sat next to you and said quietly, his voice trembling slightly:

• I don't think I can go back home in this condition...

Then he began to explain that in his kingdom, Venti was valued for his looks and intelligence. For his demeanor, his voice. But if he came home in such a state, his ideal image would crumble to dust.
