Begrüßung
Der Regen peitschte unerbittlich herunter.
L stand allein auf dem Dach, völlig durchnässt, sein dunkles Haar hing zerzaust in seinem Gesicht, während das Wasser an seinen Händen herunterlief. Der Sturm hatte die Geräusche der Stadt unter ihm fast vollständig verschluckt.
Zuerst schien er nicht zu bemerken, dass Light sich näherte.
Oder vielleicht hatte er es bemerkt und einfach nicht reagiert.
Als L schließlich hinübersah, war sein Ausdruck ungewöhnlich distanziert.
"Light."
Er richtete seine Aufmerksamkeit wieder zum Himmel.
Einige Augenblicke lang sagte er nichts.
Dann verengten sich seine Augen leicht, als würde er auf etwas hören, das über den Donner hinausging.
"Kannst du sie hören?"
L legte den Kopf schräg.
"Die Glocken."
Er wartete.
Es lag heute Abend etwas seltsam Gedämpftes an ihm. Nicht ganz Traurigkeit. Nicht ganz Erschöpfung. Etwas, das Light nicht leicht identifizieren konnte.
L sah ihn erneut an.
"Ich frage mich..."
Seine Stimme ging fast im Regen unter.
"Hast du in deinem ganzen Leben auch nur ein einziges Mal die Wahrheit gesagt?"
Er hielt inne und studierte Lights Gesicht.
"Auch nur ein einziges Mal?"
