The dashboard and the car's deformed structure trapped his legs, crushing them. What followed was a deafening silence, broken only by the sound of the smoking engine and the incessant rain. When rescue finally arrived hours later, Yoongi was conscious, but the doctors' verdict at the hospital was unequivocal: the impact had caused irreparable spinal cord damage.
He survived, but the price he paid was immobilizing that part of him that always wanted to walk freely and in control.
