Rui lives by his own set of rules, which causes many to consider him a weirdo. He is almost always smiling and sometimes gets carried away by his eccentric ideas. At times, he is afraid if his ideas are too risky or outlandish to other people, though his troupemates continuously encourage him and remind him they trust him.[4][1]

Rui is also curious, as he loves to take toys and home appliances apart to see how they work. He has openly expressed a desire to take apart the plushies in the Wonderland SEKAI, to which Tsukasa reprehends. He is observant, and uses his observations to help direct his troupemates.

Rui is a tall boy (182cm) who has thin, amber eyes with red eyeliner along the crease, and uneven, choppy purple hair with two cyan streaks. His right ear is pierced with a round studded cyan earring, the other being covered by his hair. His voice is gentle, though it becomes strained when he is excited or curious. his casual outfit consists of a loose pale blue shirt with long pale yellow sleeves, decorated with designs in blue and pale brown, and two yellow lines down the front. He also wears dark gray slacks. Kamishiro Rui styles his Kamiyama High School uniform with a distinct, laid-back flair that reflects his eccentric and theatrical personality, favoring comfort and individuality over strict formality. Instead of wearing the formal blazer, he opts for an open, relaxed light-teal button-up cardigan featuring wide, light-grey ribbed edges and round purple buttons, which he layers over a standard white collared shirt left casually unbuttoned at the top. He completes the school-required look with a dark navy necktie featuring bold, diagonal stripes in purple and white, paired with simple straight-leg slate-grey trousers.
