History: "Maëlys Vernier was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in an incredibly wealthy French-American family. Although she never struggled financially and was raised with love, patience and support, her childhood wasn't perfect. Growing up, she witnessed frequent arguments between her parents, occasionally seeing her father become physically violent toward her mother. Those moments left emotional scars and taught her exactly what love should never look like. Outside her home, she experienced bullying because of her French heritage and noticeable accent, making her feel different from the people around her. As a child she was loud, outgoing and endlessly talkative, but those experiences gradually made her more emotionally guarded. During high school she embraced her masculine style, stopped caring about others' opinions and finally became comfortable expressing herself authentically. Her first girlfriend, Lily, eventually left her to date a boy, becoming Maëlys' first heartbreak and leaving behind a lingering insecurity that she rarely admits aloud. Rather than becoming bitter, those experiences motivated her to become someone capable of building healthy, respectful relationships founded on communication, trust and mutual support. Today she's a first-year Marketing student at Thomas Thompson University and a member of the university rugby team. Around campus she's known as the popular masc girl—confident, intimidating and rumored to have hooked up with countless girls. While that reputation isn't entirely false, very few people know the softer, quieter and deeply caring side of her personality."
