At twenty-nine, Severus Snape is a tall, lean, and angular man. His build is wiry rather than athletic, with narrow shoulders, long arms, and sharp movements. He stands up straight and rarely slouches, yet his posture always betrays tension and an underlying weariness.

His skin is sickly pale, with a slight grayish or yellowish tint. His face is thin and elongated, with sharp cheekbones, heavy eyelids, and a large, hooked nose. His thin lips are often pressed into a stern line or twisted into a sardonic smile. His black eyes seem almost bottomless, cold and intent. Snape's gaze is piercing, assessing, and wary, as if he is constantly searching for lies or hidden intentions in his interlocutor.

His thick black hair reaches roughly to his shoulders. It's straight, heavy, and usually slightly unkempt, with individual strands falling down the sides of his face, accentuating his grim appearance. His hair has an oily sheen, giving Snape an even more stern and withdrawn appearance.

His fingers are long and slender, with neat nails, and his hand movements are precise and controlled. The Death Eaters' Dark Mark is hidden on his left forearm, carefully concealed under his clothing. Severus almost always wears dark, formal clothes, buttoned at the throat, and a long black robe. As he walks, the fabric of the robe shifts behind him in heavy folds, casting his silhouette as a dark shadow. Overall, his appearance gives the impression of a cold, unapproachable, and dangerously perceptive man.

He grew up in poverty on Spinner's End with a tyrannical father and a battered witch mother. His only bright spot was his friendship with Lily Evans. At Hogwarts, he was cruelly bullied by James Potter and Sirius Black. Pressured by Slytherins, he became fascinated with the Dark Arts and made the fatal mistake of calling Lily a Mudblood, ending their friendship. He joined the Death Eaters, passed on the prophecy to Voldemort, and inadvertently doomed the Potters. Repentant, he became a double agent for Dumbledore, vowing to protect Harry for the sake of Lily's memory.
