Losers Club

The one who seems to be deliberately trying to be "different": wearing vintage T-shirts with forgotten bands, cleverly making fun of herself in conversation so no one else can, and constantly balancing between "I'm fine at home with a book" and "I'm where it's more fun." Deep down, she just desperately wants to be noticed—and to be seen for who she really is.

Its main features:

A local guide and historian, Mike lives on a farm outside of town with his grandfather and knows Derry not from school maps, but from its darkest corners. He's the first to find connections between old disappearances and current events. For the Club, he's the key to the city's past.

Someone who's seen It before. Mike already has his own personal terror: he encounters Pennywise before he gets close to the others. This makes him both the most informed and the most vulnerable: he knows just how truly terrifying it is.

A pragmatist and an observer. Unlike Richie, who jokes, or Bill, who rushes forward, Mike first observes, gathers facts, and verifies. He's slow to trust and slow to act without a plan.

A stranger in town. Because of his skin color and the fact that he lives "on the outskirts," Mike often finds himself a target for Henry Bowers' gang. This constant threat makes him cautious but unbreakable: he learns to survive where others give up.

Artifact Keeper. In the film, Mike brings back important clues—photographs, clippings, and testimonies—that help the boys understand the scale of evil.

Fear: Loss of control and oblivion

Its main features:

Hypervigilance as a superpower. Eddie constantly scans the environment: is there a threat, is it dangerous, is it too risky? In the group, he acts as an "early warning system": the first to notice if something is wrong.

Dependence on "safety rituals." He always carries his inhaler (even if he's not a true asthmatic), and he repeats rules to himself about how to behave so as not to get sick or suffer. For him, these rituals are a way to keep the world under control.

His mother's influence. His overprotective, anxious mother literally instilled in Eddie that the world is a dangerous place. Because of this, he often repeats her phrases and sees everything through her eyes, even when he realizes it's a hindrance.

Loyalty to his friends. Despite his caution, Eddie doesn't abandon his team. He goes into the sewers, into terrifying places, because he knows that if he chickens out, those he cares about will suffer. His courage isn't the absence of fear, but acting through it. Asthmatic

Fear: Lepers

Its main features:

A craving for order and cleanliness. Stan is extremely neat and tidy, and he can't stand dirt and chaos—and Derry is the very embodiment of chaos and horror. In the film, this makes him especially vulnerable: when he has to climb into the sewers or encounter anything "unclean," it's almost physically painful.

Rationality and skepticism. He spends the longest time trying to find a logical explanation for what's happening: "This can't be because it doesn't happen." For Stan, the world must obey rules, and Pennywise is a violation of all the rules at once.

A love of birds. Stan is a keen ornithologist, knows the names of birds, and often turns to them in his thoughts to calm himself. It's his way of grounding himself: birds are something ordinary, understandable, not associated with nightmares.

A sense of duty. Despite his fear, Stan doesn't abandon his friends. He takes a blood oath and goes where it's scary—he just does it with a tense face and the thought, "Just don't get dirty."

Its main features:

Smart and observant, Ben has an intimate knowledge of Derry's history, notices details others miss, and is adept at piecing together facts into a coherent picture. This is evident in the film when he helps the boys understand that the evil in the town isn't a coincidence, but part of a long and terrifying history.

Shy, but not weak. His excess weight and introversion make Ben an easy target for Henry Bowers' gang. He doesn't push his way into trouble, but he's also not one to break: when necessary, he fights back and protects himself and his friends.

He's in love with Beverly. His feelings for her aren't clingy, but rather attentive: he notices when she's struggling, tries to protect her, and even writes poetry for her. It's very teenage: timid, sincere, and a little awkward.

An engineer's mind. Ben quickly figures out how to fix or build something: he helps restore the dam, coming up with simple but effective solutions. For the Losers' Club, this literally saves lives.

Fear: Being a burden to friends

At school she is bullied, evil rumors are spread about her, and at home a much more terrible threat awaits her - her cruel father.

Its main features:

Stubbornness and inner strength. Beverly refuses to be broken: even when she just wants to hide, she finds the courage to act. For example, she confidently uses a slingshot—and it really helps in battle.

The ability to see the truth. She's the first to encounter manifestations of evil in her own home: blood in the sink, voices coming from the chimneys. And instead of convincing herself she's imagining things, she seeks out those who also see them—and thus draws closer to the Club.

Caring for others. Beverly quickly becomes the emotional center of the group: she notices when someone is down and tries to support them. For the boys, each of whom is lonely in their own way, this is incredibly important.

A symbolic gesture with her hair. There's a moment in the film where she cuts her own hair after her father touches it: it's not about fashion, but about an attempt to regain control over what's happening to her.

Fear: Abuse at home from her father. Afraid no one will believe her.

His main driving force is guilt and a desire to make things right: after Georgie's disappearance, Bill is convinced he must find his brother and defeat whatever took him. His stutter often leaves him feeling insecure, but that's precisely what makes his tenacity all the more striking: he speaks not loudly, but insistently.

Characteristic details:

The stuttering is an important part of the character: it shows his tension and vulnerability, but he doesn't give up.

A sense of responsibility - he carries the group on his shoulders, even when he himself is scared to death.

Loyalty - for Bill, "not abandoning his own" is not just words: he is ready to go where it is scary if his friends need it.

The connection with Georgie - almost everything he does is somehow connected to trying to save or at least understand what happened to his brother.

Trying to overcome his stutter, he often says the tongue twister: "He slammed his fist on the table, shouting that the ghost had come again."

Fear: Guilt for Georgie's death

The loudest and wittiest of the group. His main "superpower" is his ability to impersonate voices: he can impersonate anyone, and it's not just a joke, but a way to cope with fear. His humor is cheeky, sometimes crude, which constantly gets him into trouble with teachers and Henry Bowers' gang. Yet, behind the bravado lies a genuine devotion to his friends: when it comes to serious matters, Richie doesn't run away.

Character traits: He wears glasses, likes to crack jokes to ease tension, and often hears his friends say "Beep-beep, Richie"—they gently stop him when he starts talking too much. He likes to joke about Eddie's mom.
