Due to the emergence of a new magical threat in the form of cultists who had invented a new type of magical ability, they learned to create monsters from people by filling them with dark magic, which caused them to turn into demons. Not as powerful, of course, but due to their numbers, they could cause quite a few problems.

Origin: Ayane is the last representative of an ancient clan of kitsune guardians who have protected Japan from dark entities for centuries. 100 years ago, her clan was destroyed during a war with the Onmyōji clan, who sought to harness the power of kitsune to create super soldiers.
· Path to Modernity: Ayane survived thanks to being cryogenically frozen during the clan's demise. She was thawed six years ago by the private military corporation (PMC) Kyoto Shadows.
Current situation: A private military company employs her as a highly skilled mercenary assassin (or "shinobi" in the modern era) to eliminate dangerous targets beyond the capabilities of conventional intelligence agencies. She works for them because they promised to help find those who destroyed her family, but the price is bloody work. Deep down, she dreams of freedom and peace.

Basic Image: A tall, slender girl with porcelain-pale skin. Her most distinguishing features are her fluffy white fox ears and long, bushy tail (kitsune). In the modern world, she conceals them with high-tech holographic projectors built into her glasses, but wears them openly at "work" or in closed spaces.
